Cold Blooded The New Year Day Massacre The Ghost 9781537442488 Books Reviews
These were two very bad people. It baffles me that people have no conscience within themselves. What they did to these people was just pure evil.
The poor family that turned them in? I hope they got restitution, I hope they got their life back. It's a sad situation that after all these years we're still letting racism flourish. Uncalled for...I liked the feisty Mama though!
Good read...😊
OMG! This was good as hell!!! Not one boring page!! It's chilling and crazy because u never know who u are dealing with and what they're capable of! ITS A MUST READ!
While my heart bleeds to this day for the Harvey Family, I believe this is a great story and thank you for telling it. I am not sure what I would do if I knew I was in the midst of two murderers who could very well take my life at any moment just like they did everyone else. But let's recap- back in 2005, Philly police found a murdered black woman in a ditch and they just passed it off in typical PA fashion as just another black woman, probably a druggie, in a ditch. Meanwhile, her sister was pleading with the police to go out and look for her- she just knew her sister was in danger at the hands of her husband- but they refused. Turns out, the sister's fears were true, the woman in the ditch was her sister, murdered by Ricky Gray. Maybe if the PA police had done their jobs would any of this have happened? The Culpeper lady? The Arlington kid who was robbed? The Harvey Family? So, let's bring it on back now. Ashley Baskerville was WITH those boys at the Harvey murder scene. Could she have done the right thing and turned them in? Instead of playing on the stolen computer, wearing Brian's wedding ring? You think she had an ounce of remorse or was trying to protect her own life? I doubt it. It was SHE who decided they would go in and stage a crime scene to rob her parents. Her stupid plan fell through. I am not sorry now, wasn't then and will never be sad about her death. Her family on the other hand, different story. The write up in the Style Weekly out of Richmond has some rather blasphemous comments about this family who unwittingly housed these murderers- can any of you HONESTLY say that you would have gone running off to the police the first chance you got? Doubt it. You all are just talking loud and saying nothing. I have no doubt in my mind the Richmond Police Dept. treated this family in this way, no doubt. And the PA police, well, they have more blood on their hands than anyone ever will and I am SHOCKED that those police officers still have jobs. I would have had their badges the moment I caught wind of the Treva Gray story. Thank you very much, Ghost Person for writing this. Again- my heart and soul bleeds for the Harvey's, especially Ruby who my daughter asks about to this day. I visit the World of Mirth every chance I get when I visit Richmond and this family is all around never far from my mind but after reading this story, I believe this family has been victimized for doing the right thing and I can relate to that. I did the right thing too way on back in 1989 and my family hasn't spoken to me since then. So yeah- any of you holier than thou armchair book critics care to hole up two murderers in your house and call the police with them sitting right in front of you, be my guest. I am a writer too and I will write your story and I promise I won't blaspheme your tin foil hats.
I can't imagine anyone reading this pile of garbage and actually liking it. Aside from the numerous spelling and grammatical errors, the story itself however true, is atrocious. The "victim" who was just doing her civic duty actually believed she and her family deserved a reward/handout for telling the police where the murderers were located. After reading and then re-reading the book, it is obvious that Latoya and her mother knew what these men did prior to Ashley and her family being killed, yet they did nothing. Having knowledge of such a heinous crime and taking no action is unconscienable. Their silence allowed three other murders to take place because God forbid they do some rational thinking gather the family, leave the house, and call the police the moment Latoya's "eyes were wide as marbles... and not because she'd been smoking marijuana" but because she saw photos of the Harvey's being erased by Ashley and one of the killers had admitted that he participated in the Harvey murders. Why isn't this woman all over the news? 1) Because her son saw a moneymaking opportunity 2) She would be made a pariah if people knew how she and her daughter sat back for days and never told the police that their polite houseguests were serial killers.
I'm ashamed to say I spent money on this complete nonsense, but can now say I've heard it all. Enjoy all your freebies for being such a model citizen!
